Ted Ushirogata  
 Title: Past President, Advisor of the Board of Directors  Occupation: Systems Engineer
Ted is a Systems Engineer at Northrop Grumman Corporation, working on projects he can't talk about. At night, he's a magician member of the Academy of Magical Arts, otherwise known as the Magic Castle. He plays in and organizes poker tournaments, instructs poker to beginners, organizes social events and performs magic for friends. He enjoys travelling, skiing, basketball, volleyball, karaoke, video games and watching anime. Half a lifetime ago, as a political appointee of then Los Angeles County Supervisor Ed Edelman, Ted was the first Asian-American elected as Chairman on the Los Angeles County Commission on Youth. His previous positions also included director of the Westside Volleyball League, sports event/tournament organizer, photographer, a professional DJ and a alumnus of Omega Sigma Tau. He graduated from UCLA with a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics & Computer Science and from USC with a Master's Degree in Computer Science. He hopes his knowledge, experience, organization and leadership skills will enable YGAP to grow as a provider of professional and social networking opportunities for all.

Lisa An  
 Title: Vice President, Director of Community Relations  Occupation: Financial Services Associate
Lisa is a Financial Services Associate for Prudential in the City of Industry working to reach out to people to help with their financial needs. She received her bachelor degree for Sociology from University of California, Irvine. Her career background has been focused on Hotel Management/front desk operations as well as Education for non-profit organizations. Her passion is to help others and to make positive impact for the society. During her spare times, Lisa enjoys fishing, snowboarding, and hanging out with friends. This is her second year with YGAP

Yvonne Han  
 Title: Secretary to the Board of Directors  Occupation: Accountant
Yvonne is an Accountant for Ducommun AeroStructures, one of the largest independent suppliers that designs, engineers and manufactures the largest, most complex contoured aerostructure components in the aerospace industry. Raised in Los Angeles, CA after moving to the United States from Taipei, Taiwan with her family when she was ten, she graduated from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, concentration in Accounting. After graduation, she decided that she wanted to gain more international vision and accepted a job offering from Deloitte & Touché, HsinChu, Taiwan branch. She later worked for a semiconductor company in HsinChu Scientific Park during her two years in Taiwan. She moved back to the United States to be with her parents in 2005. In her spare time, Yvonne enjoys trying new restaurants, traveling, going to movies, attending theater arts, and Chinese painting. Her favorite sports include swimming, hiking, and bikram yoga. This is her first year with YGAP and she is very enthusiastic about better serving the community and social networking.

Cindy Gong  
 Title: Treasurer / Director of Finance  Occupation: Financial Reporting Accountant
Cindy is a Financial Reporting Accountant at California State University, Office of the Chancellor, one of the largest, the most diverse, and one of the most affordable university systems in the country, located in Long Beach. She prepares financial statements and coordinates the audit process. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Accountancy and Master Degree in Public Administration from California State University, Long Beach. This 49er alumnus enjoys giving back and making a positive impact to the community as one of her passions. It is her priority to promote higher education to today’s youth. In the past, she volunteered for Food Finder, Food Bank, Academic Decathlon, Ronald McDonald House, and APEX Youth Olympic. She has also served in APEX’s Youth Olympic planning committees. In her spare time, she enjoys tennis, golf, hiking, watching sports, CNBC, movies, and theater, attending museums, and traveling.

Jean Zhao  
 Title: Historian  Occupation: Tax Consultant
Jean is a Tax Consultant at The Enterprise Zone Company in Pasadena. She got her B.S. from University of California, San Diego and her MBA from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In her spare time, she enjoy reading, hanging out with friends, going to various activities. This is her second year with YGAP.

Shook Wong  
 Title: Webmaster, Director of Information Services  Occupation: Medical Technician
Shook is a Ultrasound Technician working for Medical Ultrasound Diagnostic Alliance, Inc. She used to work for the YMCA after school programs and keeping kids off the streets in the Inland Empire. She graduated from Cal State San Bernardino with a B.A in Biology and minor emphasis in computer science. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, hiking, mountain biking, playing baskeball/soccer/outdoor activities. She likes playing video games, scrapbooking/making crafts, learning about and fixing cars, making graphic designs for webpages, spending time with family and friends, and watching movies. This will be her second year with YGAP and is very enthusiastic in providing community awareness and social networking.

Sally Tran  
 Title: Director of Community Service  Occupation: New Business Services Supervisor
Sally is a New Business Services Supervisor for Pacific Life Insurance Company in Aliso Viejo, CA. Born and raised in Los Angeles, CA, she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Business/ Finance from California State University of Long Beach. Her career background has been focused in the areas of Operations and Business Management in the Finance industry. Her passion is to help change the world by contributing her time and energy in community service efforts. During her spare times, Sally enjoys volleyball, tennis, professional development, social networking, and spending time with friends. This is her first year with YGAP.

Sandy Gong  
 Title: Director of Cultural Events  Occupation: Senior Accountant
Sandy currently is a Sr. Accountant for Long Beach Memorial Medical Center and Millers Children’s Hospital. She graduated from CSU Long Beach with a B.S. Business Administration (1999), concentration in Finance and obtained a Master in Public Administration also from the CSU Long Beach. Through the years, Sandy also was involved in APEX’s Youth Olympics planning committee and attended YGAP events, but she decided to give back further to the community by being involved in the YGAP steering group. In her spare time, she enjoys trying restaurants (as a food critic), playing and watching tennis and golf, finding time to work out regularly at the gym, attending movies and theater arts, volunteering, reading business magazines, and traveling. Two years ago, Sandy traveled to China and several of Asian countries (Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, and Thailand) to understand the Asian heritage. As the Director of Cultural Events, she would like to explore the Asian community.

Vera Tsao  
 Title: Director of Professional Development  Occupation: Human Resources Generalist
Vera Tsao is a Human Resources Generalist at a Non-Profit Charitable Organization which has 61 local offices with 100,000 members in the U.S. She specializes in the fields of California and Federal Lab Laws, Employee Relations, Compensation, Benefits, Job Analysis and Training Development. Vera graduated from San Francisco State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and International Business. While she was in Bay Area, she was a part time teacher and tutor at Non-Profit Education Foundation for almost two years. She had taught classes from kindergarten to high school; she has great passions about young’s education development and love to create fun and inspiring curriculums for children and schools. Vera was born in Taipei, Taiwan and came to Los Angeles when she was fifteen, had her first and only sweet sixteen birthday in Kansa City, Missouri. Aside from work, Vera is passionate about promoting and ensuring all children have access to education and she is currently working on a project called “Saving Wasteful School Supplies for Mountain Kids”. In her spare time, she enjoys tasting new restaurants with friends, sleeping, traveling, working with charitable organizations, and volunteering to better serve the community.

Danica Chang  
 Title: Director of Recreational Events  Occupation: Administrator
Danica is working as an administrator at Care One Medical Center, a branch of Yu Care Medical Group. She recently finished her MBA in business management, also working on transferring to a new school to finish her specification in Marketing and Finance. She joined YGAP to contribute and to give back to the community, also to expand and learn from everyone. She has experience in community outreach, trade events, mass events, public relations, and media relations. She is passionate about bringing the right people together; and finding ways to optimize networking efficiency between people. At her leisure time she loves to travel, read, going to shows, workout, and dine-out with friends. Her favorite sports include tennis, badminton, and Bikram yoga.

Lucy Tran  
 Title: Director of Social Events  Occupation: Client Services Lead
Lucy Tran is a Client Services Lead at Pacific Life Insurance Co. in Aliso Viejo. Her background also includes 2 years in Variable Annuities and 3 years as a tax preparer for H&R Block. Lucy received her Bachelor’s degree from CSULB with a double major in International Business and Finance. Lucy is passionate about contributing to the community in order to make a difference. She recently joined the Board of Directors of the Pacific Life Good Guys, an active volunteer group that participates in various monthly service projects. Lucy also enjoys expanding her professional and social network and is actively involved in various professional organizations. She is the Founder of “OCAP” (Orange County Asian Professionals), an Asian social/professional networking club which has grown to over 160 members after just 3 months of existence. In her free time, Lucy enjoys playing poker, karaoke, beach volleyball, hiking, and running. Her recent accomplishment includes finishing the Disneyland half marathon. This is Lucy’s first year with YGAP.
